Legal / Content and rights

Who owns what, and who proves it.

Ownership of your story and outputs, the rights you have to bring, what Tosheo records, what travels with a delivered asset, and the things Tosheo is explicitly not - an agent, a distributor, a financier or a rights representative.

You bring the rights. We record, check and enforce them.

Tosheo is a coordination and record system, not a rights representative. Nothing on this page substitutes for legal advice about your production.

01

Ownership

Creators retain control of their original worlds and outputs, subject to the pilot and service terms agreed for a specific engagement. Accepted assets and production data remain exportable.

That last point matters more than it sounds. A production record that only exists inside one vendor is not much of a record, and a system that holds your delivery is a worse deal than the folder of files it replaced.

  • Your premise, characters, world and story remain yours
  • Accepted masters, variants, captions and cover frames are delivered to you
  • The provenance and rights record ships in the delivery package
  • Production data remains exportable

02

What you have to bring

A greenlight brief records rights assumptions, and the ledger turns each one into a checkable obligation. What it cannot do is create a right you do not have.

The underlying story
Owned or controlled by you, including the visual adaptation rights where the source is text. That separation is the one most often missing.
Source assets
Music, images, footage, brand assets and product references, each with a grant you can describe.
Likeness and voice permissions
Verified, with territory and term, for any real person depicted or heard.
Brand claims and restrictions
For branded work: substantiated claims per market, prohibited contexts, and spokesperson permissions.

03

What Tosheo records

RightsWhat you may do
  • Ownership or control of each source
  • Permitted uses
  • Territory and platform
  • Languages, and term with an expiry date
  • Whether it may be used as a model reference
  • Attribution and disclosure obligations
ProvenanceWhat was actually done
  • Model and provider per generation attempt
  • References and canon version inherited
  • Parameters, and seed where exposed
  • Every attempt, not only the accepted one
  • Who accepted it, in what role, when
  • Original, repair and delivered version

Unresolved blocking positions stop rendering of the work that depends on them, and stop delivery of any package that depends on them. A blocked language track blocks that track rather than the production.

04

What Tosheo is not

  • Not an agent
  • Not a distributor
  • Not a financier
  • Not a rights representative
  • Not a marketplace
  • Not a provider of legal advice

05

Questions people ask

Do you clear rights for me?

No. We provide rights intake, a chain-of-title checklist, and a ledger that records, checks and enforces the positions you supply. Clearing is yours, with your own legal advice.

Who owns AI-generated output?

The position varies by jurisdiction and by how the work was made, which is exactly why provenance is recorded per asset. What we can say is what our terms say: you retain control of your original world and outputs, subject to those terms, and we do not claim ownership of your story.

What happens to my work if I stop using Tosheo?

Accepted assets and production data remain exportable, and the delivery package includes the provenance and rights record. That is deliberate - portability is only meaningful if it survives the relationship.

Can Tosheo use my production as a demonstration?

Only with your permission, agreed in the engagement. The demonstration work used across this site is Tosheo-owned and fictional, and it is labelled as such everywhere it appears.

What if someone claims my production infringes their rights?

The provenance and rights record is what makes that answerable: what the sources were, what grants were recorded, which models produced which accepted shot, and who accepted it. The legal response is yours, with your advisers; the record is what we can supply.
