Spatial continuity, stated per shot
A thriller scene is a map the audience assembles from shots. Once assembled, it is load-bearing: the tension in a shot of a closed door depends entirely on the viewer knowing what is behind it and where it sits relative to the character.
Generation models have no concept of the room. Each shot is made independently, and independently made shots put the door wherever the composition likes. So the geography is stated in the plan and inherited, and a result that contradicts it is a continuity mismatch rather than a stylistic choice.

The flip is the single most common spatial failure and the one audiences feel without being able to name. Because the geography is inherited rather than described, the failure is detectable instead of being a matter of whether a reviewer happened to notice.

Night, low light and the cost of it
Thriller lives at night, and low-light generation is where acceptance rates tend to suffer. That is a routing and treatment question rather than a creative one: which provider handles the treatment, at which quality level, and how many attempts an accepted shot takes.
The practical consequence is that the cost estimate for a thriller is dominated by a smaller number of harder shots, and the plan stage should say which ones they are so scope can be cut where it actually helps.

Why does spatial continuity matter more here than elsewhere?
Because suspense is spatial. The audience has to know where the threat is relative to the character, and they build that from shots. A romance survives a flipped background; a thriller loses its tension, because the map the viewer assembled turned out to be wrong.
How is scene geography actually enforced?
It is established on the approved location, stated as a continuity requirement per shot in the plan, inherited by each generation, and checked against in QA. A result that contradicts it is flagged with the specific reference it failed.
Are night scenes more expensive?
They tend to take more attempts per accepted shot, and attempts are the cost. We track generations per accepted shot by treatment for exactly this reason, and we will publish what we find from our own production rather than estimating it now.
Can I do a procedural with a case per episode?
Yes, and it suits the format well: a self-contained case gives the episode a hook and a close, while the season arc supplies the reason to return. The continuity load shifts toward locations and recurring cast rather than a single escalating plot.
What will you not produce in this genre?
Anything about an identifiable real person or real case presented as fact, anything that functions as method instruction, and anything that targets a private individual. These are refusals, not negotiations.
