What is this comparison based on?
This page sets Udemy Business's published plans, read from Udemy's own pages on 16 October 2026, against Tosheo.ai's planned launch scope. Tosheo.ai is pre-build, so everything said about it here is planned launch scope, and its prices are a planned hypothesis that can change before launch. Vendor statements come from that vendor's own public pages, read on 16 October 2026 and listed under sources. Nothing was tested, scored or benchmarked.
Udemy Business offers far more than AI training. The comparison here is limited to what a manager trying to build AI skills in a small or mid-size team would weigh.
What does Udemy Business offer teams?
Udemy's plans page lists a Team Plan at "$360.00" per user per year for "2-50 people", bought online with "Self-service payment options". It includes "Access to 28,000+ top courses", "Practice tests, AI-powered coding exercises, and AI Role Plays", "Analytics and Skill Proficiency insights", a "Multi-Language course collection" and "Certification prep for 200+ exams". The Team Plan page adds "Skills Mapping and AI-powered learning paths", lists 14 languages in its multi-language collection, and notes that "The Team Plan free trial is not available in India."
For larger buyers, the Enterprise Plan is "Contact sales for pricing", with a larger catalogue, advanced analytics and add-ons. Udemy also lists an AI Fluency offer, also through sales, with an AI Readiness Collection of curated courses, AI topic assessments and AI Role Play simulations, an AI Growth Collection with role-specific AI learning paths, and guidance from the Udemy AI Assistant. The plans page lists SSO and LMS integrations in its comparison table, but the text read did not make clear which plan includes them, so ask Udemy.
What is Tosheo.ai planning instead?
Tosheo.ai is being built as self-serve AI training for teams of about 5 to 200 people. The manager picks the team's roles and the AI tools it already uses, and can upload up to five company documents so examples use the company's context. There is no course catalogue to browse: each learner takes a five-minute diagnostic and gets a path chosen for their role and level.
Every planned lesson ends with a hands-on task in a real AI tool, graded by AI against a visible rubric with specific feedback, and a learner can flag a score for review. Practice scenarios are role-plays scored the same way. Managers see skill progress and completion, never raw chat logs. A final practical assessment leads to a recognised certificate. None of this is available yet.
How do the two compare side by side?
The rows below quote what each side publishes or plans. They are not a measure of quality.
| Question | Udemy Business Team Plan (published 16 October 2026) | Tosheo.ai (planned, pre-build) |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | Available now. | Not yet available. |
| Team size | 2 to 50 people; Enterprise above that. | Built for about 5 to 200 people; 5-seat minimum. |
| List price | $360 per user per year. | Planned $15 per seat per month billed yearly, or $19 monthly; Growth $29. |
| Content | More than 28,000 courses across many subjects. | AI at work plus data, ML and blockchain foundations, generated per role and level. |
| Practice | Practice tests, AI-powered coding exercises and AI Role Plays. | A hands-on task in a real AI tool after every lesson, with a visible rubric. |
| Languages | Multi-language course collection. | English only at launch. |
| Credential | Certification prep for more than 200 exams. | A recognised certificate after a final practical assessment. |
How do the published prices compare?
On list prices only, Udemy's Team Plan was $360 per user per year on 16 October 2026, and Tosheo.ai's planned Team Annual price is $15 per seat per month billed yearly, which is $180 per seat per year. Tosheo.ai's figure is a hypothesis that has not been tested with paying teams and may change before launch.
The two prices do not buy the same thing. Udemy's price covers a catalogue across every subject it offers; Tosheo.ai's covers AI-at-work practice only. A team that would use Udemy for several subjects is comparing one subscription against two. This page makes no claim that either option gives better value per result.
When is Udemy Business the better choice?
Udemy Business is the better choice whenever breadth, availability or language matters more than a focused AI routine.
You need training this month
Udemy Business is available now and can be bought online. Tosheo.ai is pre-build.
Your team needs many subjects
A marketing team that also needs analytics, design and project management courses gets them from one Udemy subscription.
You want certification prep
Udemy lists prep for more than 200 exams. Tosheo.ai plans one certificate per role path.
People learn in several languages
Udemy lists a multi-language collection. Tosheo.ai lessons are English only at launch.
You want structured AI collections from a large provider
Udemy's AI Fluency offer bundles AI courses, AI topic assessments, role-specific AI paths and AI role plays, through sales.
When might a focused AI path suit a team better?
A focused path suits a manager who has a narrow, repeated AI task and wants evidence that people can do it. In a fictional example, Fernhill Goods, a 12-person online homeware shop, uses Gemini to draft product descriptions. The operations lead wants descriptions that match the supplier specification sheet, with no invented dimensions or materials.
Through a library, the lead would look for a course on AI writing or prompting and ask the team to complete it. Through the planned Tosheo.ai path, each person would get a task: "Using this fictional spec sheet, ask Gemini for a 120-word product description. Then check every measurement and material in the draft against the sheet and correct any that differ." A weak output might say a lamp is "solid oak, 45 cm tall" when the sheet says "oak veneer, 42 cm". The rubric would credit the learner for catching both errors and for removing any claim the sheet does not support.
That is a different method from a course, not a proven better one. If your team's problem is knowing what AI tools can do at all, a good course may be the right first step. If the problem is checking AI output in a specific task, practice against a visible standard is the thing to look for.
What should you check before choosing?
Run one real task through whichever option you shortlist and look at the result, not just the content list.
Billing and trial terms
Udemy's Team Plan is annual per user, and its free trial is not offered in India. Tosheo.ai plans a 7-day trial with a card, for up to 5 seats.
Relevance to your roles
Search the Udemy catalogue for your team's actual tasks, or inspect a sample Tosheo.ai role task.
How practice is scored
Ask how AI role plays or tasks are scored, and whether learners see and can dispute the standard.
What managers can see
Check whether reports show skill, completion or both, and whether they expose learner conversations.
