Who is this generative AI course for, and who is it not for?

It is for people who hear about generative AI every week but have used it rarely, or only for the occasional email. Office managers, team leads, sales staff, teachers moving into training roles and small business owners all fit. It also suits managers who must decide whether their team should use these tools and need to understand the risks first.

It is not a course on how large language models are trained, and it does not teach you to build or fine-tune a model. Hands-on work with Python and AI APIs sits in the optional Code track. If you already use AI tools daily and want sharper results, the prompt engineering course is a better fit.

What will I learn in the generative AI course?

Six modules take you from what the technology is to choosing a tool for your own work. Each module mixes short explanations with hands-on tries, so the ideas stick to real tasks.

1. What generative AI is

How these tools predict text and images from patterns, why that makes them fluent but not always right, and the difference between a chat assistant and a search engine.

2. Text at work

Drafting, summarising, rewording and brainstorming, with the human decisions that stay with you.

3. Images and audio at work

Generating draft visuals for a slide or social post, transcribing and summarising recordings, and the consent and copyright questions each raises.

4. Limits and hallucinations

Why tools invent sources, numbers and quotes, how to spot it, and which tasks are too risky to hand over.

5. Data safety

What you should never paste into a public tool, how company accounts differ from personal ones, and how to follow your organisation's AI policy.

6. Choosing a tool

Matching the job to a tool type: general assistant, writing aid, meeting transcriber, image generator or the AI already built into software you use.

How does the personalised path adapt to me?

The diagnostic asks a few questions about what you have tried and shows you two AI answers, one with a hidden error. How you handle them sets your starting point. A complete beginner starts with module one; someone who already drafts with AI but has never thought about data safety moves quickly to modules four and five.

Examples match your role. An office manager works on a visitor policy summary; a sales rep tries a call recap; a trainer generates an illustration for a slide and checks it for mistakes.

What do I practise?

You practise spotting where generative AI helps and where it misleads. One task from module four: you are given a short AI-written briefing on a fictional supplier, Northgate Packaging, that contains two invented statistics and a source that does not exist. You ask the tool to show its sources, mark each claim as checked, unchecked or false, and write a two-line note to your manager on whether the briefing can be used.

The rubric, visible before you begin, checks that you found both invented figures, flagged the fake source, did not repeat any unchecked claim as fact and gave a clear yes or no recommendation.

How long does the generative AI course take?

Each lesson is 10 to 15 minutes long. How many lessons you need depends on where the diagnostic places you and how regularly you come back, so we do not quote a fixed number of hours. You can pause at any lesson and pick up where you left off.

What do I get at the end?

You finish with a final practical assessment that asks you to use generative AI for a realistic task, check the output and explain the data choices you made. Pass it and you receive a recognised certificate. It shows you completed practical, marked work; it is not an accredited qualification. From here many learners continue into the AI, data science or machine learning foundations paths, which start with concepts and no-code practice, with optional Code lessons in Python for anyone who wants hands-on skills.

How much does the generative AI course cost?

There is no separate course fee: the generative AI course comes with any Tosheo.ai plan. On your own, the Individual plan costs USD 79 a month, or USD 790 if you pay yearly. For a team, the Team plan covers up to 3 members for USD 189 a month or USD 1,890 a year, and each additional member adds USD 49 a month or USD 490 a year. Volume pricing applies from 25 members. You can start a 7-day free trial without a credit card.
