What is this comparison based on?
This page compares Coursera for Teams and Coursera for Enterprise, as described on Coursera's own business pages on 16 October 2026, with Tosheo.ai's planned launch scope. Tosheo.ai is pre-build, so everything said about it here is planned launch scope, and its prices are a planned hypothesis that can change before launch. Vendor statements come from that vendor's own public pages, read on 16 October 2026 and listed under sources. Nothing was tested, scored or benchmarked.
Coursera is a broad learning catalogue with strong links to universities and companies. Tosheo.ai is being built for one job: helping staff use AI tools well in their current roles. The decision usually turns on whether your team needs recognised external credentials and wide subject coverage, or a focused practice routine.
What does Coursera for Teams offer?
Coursera's Teams page says it can "Upskill 2 to 499 employees", with payment "by debit/credit card, PayPal, or invoice". The compare-plans page listed the Team plan at "$399" per user per year, with a "14-day money-back guarantee"; the Teams FAQ adds that "any earned certificates will be revoked if refunded". No free trial was mentioned. The Teams page lists "12,000+ courses" and "1500+ hands on labs"; the compare-plans page gives other catalogue totals, so confirm the current figure.
On AI, the Teams page says managers can "Use AI-powered tools to create tailored, multilingual, role-specific learning paths", and mentions "Personalized AI guidance" and "an interactive AI guide for learners". On credentials, it says learners can "Earn globally recognized Professional Certificates", and the compare-plans page lists "165+ Professional Certificates and recognized credentials". Reporting includes "Detailed dashboards and reports to track skill progress".
Coursera for Enterprise, for more than 499 users, is priced through sales and adds single sign-on, "Native LTI integrations to connect with Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, and D2L", an AI-powered course builder and a customer success manager.
What is Tosheo.ai planning instead?
Tosheo.ai is being built as self-serve AI training for teams of about 5 to 200 people. A manager selects roles and the AI tools the team uses, optionally uploads up to five company documents, and invites the team. Learners take a five-minute diagnostic and follow an adaptive path of 10 to 15 minute lessons, each ending in a hands-on task in a real AI tool.
Tasks are planned to be graded by AI against a rubric the learner can see, with specific feedback and a way to flag a score for review. Managers see skill progress and completion, not raw chat logs. A final practical assessment leads to a recognised certificate with a verifiable URL and a LinkedIn share. The certificate partner has not been decided. None of this is available yet.
How do the two compare side by side?
This table restates published and planned scope. It does not rate either side.

When is Coursera the better choice?
Coursera is the better choice for several buyers, and the clearest reasons are credentials, breadth and availability.
Credentials recognised outside your company matter
Coursera's Professional Certificates come from named universities and companies. Tosheo.ai's planned certificate is narrower and its partner is undecided.
You need data, technical or broad business skills
Coursera covers subjects such as data and technology in depth, with hands-on labs. Tosheo.ai covers using AI tools in everyday roles only.
You need it now
Coursera for Teams can be bought today. Tosheo.ai is pre-build.
Learners need other languages
Coursera describes multilingual learning paths. Tosheo.ai is planned in English only.
You will grow past 200 people or need an LMS
Coursera's Enterprise plan lists LTI integrations and single sign-on. Tosheo.ai does not plan SSO or LMS connections at launch.
When might a focused AI path suit a team better?
A focused path suits a team that does not need a broad credential, only reliable everyday AI habits. In a fictional example, Calder Row, a 45-person accounting practice, gives staff Copilot. The partners want juniors to summarise client correspondence without introducing figures that are not in the original emails.
With Coursera, the practice could assign a course on generative AI for business and look for completion and a certificate. That suits staff who need broad grounding. With the planned Tosheo.ai path, a junior would get a task: "Ask Copilot to summarise this fictional email thread about a late VAT return. Check every date and amount in the summary against the thread." A weak summary might say the client "agreed to pay £1,200 by Friday" when the thread shows only a request. The rubric would credit flagging that the payment was requested, not agreed.
Neither approach has been measured against the other here. The practical difference is that one gives broad knowledge and an external credential, and the other is designed to give repeated, scored practice in the exact task the team does.
Should a team use Coursera and Tosheo.ai together?
Some teams could reasonably use both once Tosheo.ai launches: Coursera for people who want a recognised professional certificate or deeper technical learning, and a focused AI path for everyone who simply needs to use AI tools well in their current job. Start by asking which problem you have. If people do not understand what generative AI is, a structured course is a good first step. If they understand it but the work they produce with it is unreliable, look for scored practice.
What should you check before choosing?
Check the terms and the practice, not only the catalogue.
Price and commitment
Confirm Coursera's current per-user annual price and what the 14-day money-back terms mean for certificates. Treat Tosheo.ai prices as planned.
What the credential proves
Ask what a learner must do to earn each certificate, and who will recognise it.
Practice on your tools
Check whether exercises use the AI tools your team actually has, such as ChatGPT, Copilot or Gemini.
Reporting
Check whether managers see skill, completion or both, and what personal data the reports show.
