Who is this Microsoft Copilot course for, and who is it not for?

It is for people who live in Outlook, Teams and Office files: administrators, finance and HR staff, project managers, sales teams and team leads. It is especially useful where a company has switched Copilot on and few people have changed how they work.

It is not a course for IT administrators configuring Copilot, and it does not cover GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio or building agents. If you mainly use ChatGPT or Claude outside Microsoft 365, those courses fit better.

What will I learn in the Microsoft Copilot course?

Six modules, one per place you meet Copilot, plus the licence question that explains why colleagues see different features. Feature details are from Microsoft's own documentation, and exactly what appears depends on your organisation's licence and settings.

1. Which Copilot do I have?

Copilot Chat (Basic) mainly uses web data and only uses work content you provide; the Microsoft 365 Copilot (Premium) add-on can ground answers in your emails, files, meetings and calendar. You learn to read the in-app label.

2. Copilot in Word

Starting a draft from a prompt, notes or a referenced file, rewriting and changing tone, and summarising or questioning a document.

3. Copilot in Excel

Creating formulas, charts and PivotTables, finding trends and outliers, and choosing between its chat, edit and plan modes. Agent Mode handles multi-step tasks where your licence allows.

4. Copilot in Outlook and Teams

Drafting emails, summarising threads, and in Teams summarising meetings and capturing action items, then checking them against what was agreed.

5. Copilot in PowerPoint

Building a draft deck from a prompt or existing content, summarising a presentation and generating likely audience questions.

6. Checking and safe use

Verifying figures and claims, spotting when Copilot drew on the wrong file, and following your company's data rules.

How does the personalised path adapt to me?

The diagnostic asks which Microsoft 365 apps you use most and which Copilot label you see, then sets one short task. A finance analyst's path leans on Excel; a project manager's on Teams, Outlook and Word; a sales lead's on Outlook and PowerPoint. If your licence lacks a feature, the path skips or swaps that lesson.

Worked examples use your kind of work: a month-end variance table, a project steering meeting, a proposal deck or a staff handbook update.

What do I practise?

You practise in the Microsoft 365 apps themselves, with made-up files. One example from module three: you open a sample expenses workbook for the fictional Ashdown Builders, a made-up 40-person construction firm, and ask Copilot in Excel to find the three cost lines with the largest overspend against budget and chart them.

The rubric, visible before you start, checks that you told Copilot which columns hold budget and actual, asked it to show its formula, checked at least one result by hand and labelled the chart so a director could read it without you.

How long does the Microsoft Copilot course take?

Each lesson takes 10 to 15 minutes, a natural fit for a gap in a Teams-heavy day. How many lessons you take depends on your diagnostic, the apps you use and your pace, so we do not quote a fixed total in hours.

What do I get at the end?

A final practical assessment asks you to complete a realistic task across at least two Microsoft 365 apps with Copilot and show your checks. Passing earns a recognised certificate. It is not an accredited qualification, nor a Microsoft certification, and Microsoft neither issues nor endorses it.

How much does the Microsoft Copilot course cost?

The Copilot course comes with every Tosheo.ai plan, while your Copilot licence stays with your Microsoft subscription. Individual: USD 79 a month, or USD 790 billed yearly. Team: USD 189 a month or USD 1,890 a year, which covers up to 3 members; each extra member is USD 49 a month or USD 490 a year, and volume pricing starts at 25 members. A 7-day free trial comes first, and no credit card is needed.
